A virtual site for West Elk USD 282, E-School Virtual Charter Academy is a virtual program dedicated to serving K-12 students across the great state of Kansas.

Students from Kindergarten through 12th grade can succeed and advance on their own time and schedule that best fits the family’s needs and interests.

E-School provides families with the flexibility and freedom to decide when, where, and how their child is educated without sacrificing the quality of education that is received.

Certified teachers and content experts provide students with a safe and conducive virtual learning environment that allows students to grow academically and socially.

Migrant Education Program

The Migrant Education Program (MEP) is authorized by Title I Part C of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). The MEP provides formula grants to local education agencies to establish or improve education programs for children who may qualify for the Migrant Program. Please help us determine your child's eligibility for the Migrant Program by responding to the following questions.

Families may qualify as “homeless” under the McKinney-Vento Act if they do not have a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.This may include students who are currently:

• Sharing housing with others due to loss of housing or financial hardship
• Living in a motel, hotel, trailer park, or campground due to lack of other options
• Staying in an emergency or transitional shelter
• Living in a car, park, public space, abandoned building, or other temporary setting not meant for housing

If any of these situations apply to your student, please indicate below so the school can provide additional support and services.

Asian: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand and Vietnam.

Black or African American: A person having origins in any of the black racial groups in Africa.

Native American or Alaska Native: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America including Central America, and who maintains a tribal affiliation or a community attachment.

Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands.

White: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.

District Technology Policy/Acceptable Use

Each student enrolled in ESVCA may receive, on loan, a Chromebook. Students and parents must participate in orientation making them aware of the technology usage policies. All school computers and all content electronically transmitted on school-owned computers are ESVCA property. Internet usage on the school device or utilizing the school log-in will be monitored and supervised. Using school-owned computers or other internet-accessible devices to view inappropriate online material is prohibited and will result in disciplinary action. Any student/family enrolled in ESVCA will be responsible for providing adequate Internet service. Reliable Internet service is vital to student success and interaction with curriculum and teachers. Families that need help procuring Internet service or with other technology needs can contact our school office.

Please note: While these documents are not required to submit your initial application, your student's enrollment cannot be finalized until all items are uploaded.

ALL families will need to submit 2 proof of Kansas residency annually. Acceptable Proofs of Residency must be two of the following documents:

• Current Kansas Driver’s License (DL), current Kansas Nondriver Identification (ID), or Kansas DL/Kansas ID renewal postcard.
• Current vehicle registration.
• Utility bill (gas, water, electric, or trash) with service dates in July or August. 
• Bank statement with service dates in July or August. 
• Deed or mortgage with a current Kansas address.
• Current rent or lease agreement dated within the past 12 months.
• Current Kansas Voter Registration Card.
